This update from Andrew Keith Strauss:
Just a quick note to let you know that Scott gave me a call this afternoon. He seems to be doing well, although he is a little bored due to his general immobility - if I had to stare at a hospital ceiling for days on end, I'd probably be bored too.
In the next few days, Scott and family will be making the necessary decisions about his recuperation. It looks like his stay in the hospital will last at least another two weeks - after that, there is uncertainty whether he'll return directly to New York, or spend more time recovering with family in Los Angeles.
In the meantime, there's plenty of physical therapy and other stuff to deal with. At the moment, Scott's spending several hours a day in physio - which leaves him quite exhausted by the end of the afternoon.
Scott said that he has been very touched by the overwhelming amount of support that he and his family have received in the past couple of weeks. I'll be speaking with Scott in the next few days, and hopefully will be able to visit him in the hospital within the next week.

I just want to leave my best wishes to Scott for a speedy recovery. He doesn't know me from Adam (or Eve), but I know him from the New York InDesign group. I pegged him for a genuine sweetie, and obviously from all these well-wishings, he really is!
Get back to NYC & the group ASAP, Scott. I'm gettin' a new tee-shirt I want to show you. (vbg)

Best wishes for you, Scott. I hope you get well fast.
Hi Scott,
I just heard about your accident through an NYIDUG mailing, so I got the bad news and the good news at the same time. I'm glad to hear you're recovering quickly and the outlook is good! Keep your spirits up and get well soon.
